The Amazon has
been a source of mystery and adventure for centuries. She
has inspired legends of El Dorado, races of women warriors,
and the Chronicle of Akakor. Her allure captured the minds
of explorers, leading to the epic journeys of Francisco
de Orellana, Captain Teixeira, and Alexander von Humboldt.
And still, much of the Amazon Basis remains unexplored,
leaving much of her mysteries unsolved to this day. Hidden
in the darkened forest lurks many undiscovered species of
plants and animals. Maybe even a lost city or two. Still,
this is a very threatened enigma. Thousands of acres are
cut down each day as her many creatures die off from over
hunting or environmental destruction. The Amazon is a treasure
for both the imagination and in terms of biodiversity. So
come join in the company of the explorers before the Amazon
is no more.
