Luggage
The type of luggage you choose depends primarily on what
you travel plans. A duffel bag would be best in any case
because it is light and durable. But if you intend to
bring back fragile items, perhaps a hard case would be
best. Additionally, a rucksack would be preferable if
you plan on doing a lot of hiking.
Clothing
All clothing should be 100 % cotton, loose fitting,
lightweight and quick drying:-
- Athletic cotton trousers
- 2-3 cotton long sleeved shirts
- T-shirts
- Jumper for chilly nights
- Tennis shoes/trainers & light weight socks for
hiking
- Sandals for deck and town
- Swimsuit/shorts and something to protect shoulders
from sun
- Light weight rain coat/poncho
- Broad brimmed hat
- Suitable cloths for restaurants and hotels
in larger cities
- Jacket for higher altitudes.
Medical equipment (as
appropriate!)
- Any prescriptions
- Anti-malarial tablets
- Anti-diarrhea medication
- Anti-itch cream
- Antibiotic ointment
- First aid kit
- Sun Block
Travel Documents
- Passport (visa if required)
- Photocopies of travel documents (kept in separate
location)
- Traveler schedules/credit cards/cash
- Money pouch to store travel documents
Other
- Day pack
- Camera and equipment
- Binoculars
- Insect Repellent
- Torch
- Sunglasses
- Zip-lock bags
